Introduction
Rich fresh chocolate mousse
Mousse
Ingredients
- 100 grams dark chocolate
- 1 egg
- 1/2 cup thickened cream
- 2 teaspoons castor sugar
Method
- Melt choclate in a medium bowl over a saucepan of simmering water. Do not allow water to touch base of the bowl.
- Separate the egg
- Place egg white in a small bowl and beat with electric mixer until soft peaks form.
- Add sugar to the egg white. Beat until dissolved
- Fold the egg white mixture into the melted chocolate with a spatula.
- Pour mousse into serving glasses. Refrigerate for several hours or until set. Overnight is best.
- Serve with grated chocolate on top and maybe a fresh strawberry.
Makes enough for 4
